The Ohio Career-Technical Education Testing System is but one dimension of multiple assessments used by career-technical educators. The intent of the occupational assessments is to
- reinforce local assessment, building a comprehensive system for student credentialing.
- assess student vocational and technical skill attainment to comply with federal regulations of the Carl D. Perkins Act of 2006.
- provide a high-quality, state-validated and standardized measure of career-technical knowledge attainment.
