Editing Account Status

Enabling/Disabling a User Account

When a WebXam account is “enabled,” it means that the user can log in to WebXam and gain access to the resources available there. Users attempting to log into WebXam with a disabled account will see a message notifying them they can not log in due to their account being disabled. The account’s status can be edited by an authorized account to be enabled. This can be done by using the “Bulk Action” drop-down.

How to enable or disable a user’s account

  1. Login at the WebXam home page.
  2. Choose “User Search” in the left navigation bars. Alternatively, you can find specific user types through the choices in the left navigation as well.
  3. Find your user or users.
  4. In the table that lists the roster, on the far left side, place a check next to a user(s) whose account you wish to change.
  5. In the drop-down with the word “Bulk Action” in it, use the arrow to dropdown the selections and choose “Enable/Disable”. This will open another dropdown that will allow you to choose between “Enable” and “Disable”.
  6. Once you choose from that drop-down, click “Apply”. This will set your choice.

Archiving/Unarchiving a User Account

WebXam user accounts cannot be deleted, but are instead archived. Archiving an account prevents the user from logging into WebXam and will hide them from your user list unless you select the “Show Archive” option.

Students who have graduated, left the district, or the program can be archived once it is determined they will no longer be required to test. Additionally, other users’ account types can be archived at any time if access is no longer required.

To archive a user:

  1. Login at the WebXam home page.
  2. Select the type of user you wish to archive in the left navigation bar.
  3. In that selection’s drop-down, choose “List”.
  4. In the roster table, use the boxes to add check marks to the user or users that need to be archived, for teachers and administrators WebXam recommends doing this one user at a time.
  5. In the “Bulk Action” drop-down, choose “Archive”.
  6. For teachers and administrators, an option to move the account’s associated users to another account will appear. If the user is being replaced, you can move the administrator’s teachers and the teacher’s students to another account.
  7. After making that choice, click “Apply”
