Score reports are based on Ohio’s CTE content standards. Data is aggregated across multiple test items, measuring knowledge associated with competencies throughout the given standards. Scores do not provide specific detail regarding
individual competency attainment. Instead, the information is an indicator of the students’ knowledge related to groups of competencies within the respective content standards. Occupational assessments have performance standards at the test level, where tests may reflect competencies within one or more of the units of instruction in the content standards.
If a student meets or exceeds the performance standards on a test, he or she is likely to have mastered the knowledge associated with the corresponding content area. These performance standards were derived by panels of CTE instructors familiar with the content standards and the population of secondary CTE students.
